David Zwang, is a former commercial Photographer, owner of 2 Prepress and Printing companies, and currently the principal consultant of Zwang & Company. He specializes in strategic business planning, analysis, and related services to companies in the vertical Publishing market. Clients have included US Government agencies, manufacturers, retailers, publishers, premedia and print companies around the globe.
His ability to look at systems and processes and optimize them using both people and technologies has benefited his clients and driven his success. His experience includes an extensive background in Electronic Premedia and printing technologies, including; Offset, Digital, Flexo, and Gravure. Zwang also offers consulting services to manufacturers on product development and marketing in the field of publishing support, with a specific emphasis on data driven design, premedia, and print production.
Projects include reengineering global publishing infrastructures; automated production and data management solutions; On Demand book solutions; magazine and packaging publishing technologies and processes; process collaboration systems; and color management systems.
In addition to writing many articles related to the publishing industry, he has developed a variety of courses in Process Benchmarking, Color Reproduction, PDF Troubleshooting, and Plant Management. He has been an active board member of a number of International Graphic Arts Associations and standards bodies, including Chairman of the Ghent PDF Workgroup. He has lectured at many Colleges and Universities, as well as many major industry conferences.
